Welcome to my little corner of the Internet!

I was first introduced to the Arab world when I decided to study Arabic at university on a whim. It turned out to be a really rewarding and empowering decision, I fell in love with the language and never really looked back. It provided me with invaluable experience and insight to parts of the world I had never thought to explore previously. I graduated from The University of Manchester summer of 2018 (somehow managed to bag myself a first, woohoo!) and continue to live and work in Manchester today.

I like to write as honestly as possible and to provide a point of reference for anyone interested in travelling to the Middle East or African countries. There’s so much on offer in terms of culture, history and religion despite many Western preconceptions of these countries. Having spent up to 5 months living in each of the places I write about, it means that I’m able to provide you with a high level of detail on what you can expect. If you like what you see, please subscribe to my blog at the bottom of this page, alternatively, you can also find my contact details here. If you ever have any questions about anything, or anywhere, please feel free to drop me a message or leave a comment!

So, now that we’ve done the introductions, where should you start? You can see all destinations covered from the drop down menu at the top of the page, but if you’re just looking for more information on moroccan cuisine, I’d recommend starting here. If you’re wondering what a home stay experience is like, take a look here, or if you just want to know where all Lebanon’s best beaches are, I’ve got just the article.
